AVM embolization is the least invasive treatment to remedy arteriovenous malformation through the interruption of the blood flow to the affected region. The method works through the introduction of catheters via the veins to deliver embolic material, including coils and medical glue, directly to the malformation, decreasing the risk of bleeding and troubles. AVM embolization, often paired with surgery and/or radiosurgery, is the safer, more localized method of treating such complicated vascular malformations.
