The tuberculosis skin test evaluates whether or not a person has demonstrated a resistant response to the tuberculosis-causing bacteria (TB).

Tuberculosis skin occurs after direct injection of tubercle bacilli into the skin of someone who has been previously infected and developed good immunity. The skin lesions are usually alone and axiomatic as painless, violaceous, or brown-red, indurated warty plaques that range from 1 to 5 cm in diameter.
