Despite being just 25 miles from Fairbanks, Borealis Basecamp seems a world apart due to its setting on 100 acres of unspoiled boreal forest. To get to the property, guests must take a helicopter journey, where they are welcomed with oysters and champagne. The all-inclusive experience includes a world-class chef's prepared cuisine, use of adventure gear, a private sauna, multiple observation decks, and guided explorations in the Don Sheldon Amphitheater.

The hexagonal-shaped chalet has five bedrooms and can accommodate up to ten people. The minimum stay is three nights, although the chalet advises four to really immerse yourself in this experience.

Hotel Arctic is the world's northernmost four-star hotel, located directly on the beaches of the Ilulissat Icefjord. The hotel includes 90 rooms, ranging from singles to suites, all with comfortable mattresses, elegant bathrooms, and glacier views. The Umiaq Outdoor suites feature individual patios and direct mountain access.

Brasserie Ulo and Arctic Fine Dining Wine Bar are both located at Hotel Arctic and showcase local ingredients and views of Disko Bay. In addition, the proprietors collaborated with Mikkeller, a Copenhagen-based microbrewery, to introduce six beers on tap. Make a point of booking at least a couple guided excursions via the hotel, with possibilities such as kayaking beside icebergs, flying over the fjord in a helicopter, and, of course, chasing the northern lights.
